AD 1.6 REGISTERED AERODROMES DIRECTORY


1.6.1 Definitions

1.6.1.1. Aerodromes listed in this section are with special characteristics and are not required to be certified under GACA Regulation Part 139.
1.6.1.2. As used in this section, the aerodromes means Heliport and Landing Strip for restricted use within Saudi Arabia airspace, not for air services, and are reserved for pilots and aircraft meeting special requirement.

1.6.2 Availability

1.6.2.1. Pilots and operators must ensure that aerodromes are clear of all objects, animals and person other than objects essential to the operation and persons who are essential to the safe conduct of the operation.
1.6.2.2. Non-certifide aerodromes listed in this section can be used by aircraft within the limits of the prescribed operational conditions.

1.6.3 Use

1.6.3.1. Before attempting a flight involving landings on aerodromes listed in this section, pilots must enquire about the condition of such aerodromes and the relevant weather conditions.
1.6.3.2. The use of aerodromes listed in this section is always the responsibility of the aircraft owner or operator.
1.6.3.3. The operators of aerodromes listed in this section must conduct an annual review of the information published in th AIP and provide GACA with updates of that information if any changes occur.
1.6.3.4. Pilots intending to use any aerodromes listed in this section is responsible to obtain current information and approval on that aerodrome from the owner/operator prior to flight planning and to assess the suitability of the aerodrome for the intended operation.

1.6.4 Aerodrome Owner Responsibilities

1.6.4.1. The owner of an aerodrome listed in this section must report to GACA any safety accident, occurrence or event immediately.
1.6.4.2. The owner of an aerodrome listed in this section must notify GACA immediately before any change to the aerodrome using the attached form.
1.6.4.3. The owner of an aerodrome listed in this section must maintain the aerodrome in compliance with all municipalities and/or authorities requirements and related regulations.
1.6.4.4. The aerodrome listed in this section must assign a focal point of contact with GACA.

1.6.5 Request for Registration

1.6.5.1. The owner of an aerodrome can request the registration and publication of his Helipad or Landing Strip using the attached Form and submitted to GACA.
1.6.5.2. If ICAO Location Indicator is not available, GACA will issue a discreet location indicator. Operator must use this code in flight plan and all correspondences.

1.6.6.1. The following directories show the characteristics of registered aerodromes (Heliport and Landing Strip) in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
